Giving can give meaning to your life

There are ever more people trying to help others, bound by a desire to give back a little bit to society now that they've attained their life's goals and have built up some assets. A lot of people ask themselves: What will be left of me some day? How can I do something for someone at the end of my life? What kind of mark will I leave on this world? A final testament gives you the opportunity to help shape the future, especially if your estate can be put to use by charitable organizations, either partially or in whole.

Your bequest helps

Bequests and donations in last wills can have a considerable effect in strengthening the Björn Schulz Foundation and supporting projects to help both children suffering from serious and life-shortening illnesses, and their families. Your bequest can let you help in a useful and sustainable way.

If you want to bequest funds according to your wishes, you need to draw up a will. Bear in mind that, for your will to be accepted as a legal document, it has to be prepared in the proper way. That's why we recommend you get legal advice when drafting your last testament. If you have questions about how to formulate your will and need some advice, we'll be happy to put you in contact with an attorney trained in estate law who lives near you and with whom you can speak more.

Bequeathals and donations laid out in a will that go to the Björn Schulz Foundation can go directly to seriously ill children, those with life-shortening illnesses, and their families, all with no overhead. As a charitable organization, we are not subject to any inheritance taxes.

If you need more information, we'd be happy to send you our free brochure on inheritances. We're also happy to take the time to conduct personal and confidential discussions with you about the matter.

Our estate in good hands

Sylvia und Holger Grundies have named the Björn Schulz Foundation as their beneficiary in their testament.

We learned about the Björn Schulz Foundation and its work thanks to a TV report. Since then, we've tracked its work with great interest. The foundation cares for terminally sick children and their families professionally and competently. During a visit to the children's hospice, the Sonnenhof, we learned more about the multiple jobs facing both the stationary service and the ambulatory one, which provides information and support for families directly in their homes. We had a chance to talk to the staff and were impressed with the care they showed as they provided comprehensive care for the sick children. Families who are facing tough situations are taken up in a web of support so they can be helped and accompanied individually.

We also lost a son and know how important this help can be, especially for other members of the family. Our joint wish is that we can take what we accumulated in our life and put it to a good use when we're gone, helping  people who are in desperate need. That's why we named the Björn Schulz Foundation as our benefactor in our notarized testament. It was important to us to reach this decision at the right time, so we could set our affairs in order. Because if you don't have a will and estate planning, the government will inherit it all.

We know: Our estate is in good hands.
